1969 Mooney M20G Statesman (ICAO M20P). Based at Spirit (KSUS) Million Air hangar B-10. To start, you must push in the key to engage the starter.
Aircraft Maintenance Officer: Greg Clifft — contact information on Flight Circle.
Club pilots: checkout requires meeting club insurance requirements and a check flight with a CFI before solo.
Fuel, oil & cleaning
Fuel to 17 gallons per tank after use. Call ahead to top off if you are taking a longer cross-country.
Use AeroShell W15W-50 (red bottle). Log accurate oil usage. Do not check out without 6 quarts — expect about 6 to 6.5 qt on the dipstick. Clean leading edges with airframe spray and terry-style microfiber; use windscreen spray/towels for all windows.
Leaving the airplane & landing notice
- Fasten seatbelts across the seats; stow the shoulder harness; remove trash and water bottles.
- Do not leave the tow bar on the nose wheel unless your hand is on it.
- Landing: be prepared to go around if your numbers are not right. If you bounce once, you must go around — Mooneys sit low with rubber-disc gear pucks, and a continued landing risks a prop strike.
Important starting information
This aircraft has been upgraded to SureFly electronic ignition. Starter limits: 10 seconds on, 30 seconds off, up to 3 tries, then a 2-minute cool-down. Electronic ignition needs good battery voltage. Maintenance guidance: two good primes by moving the throttle full forward and full aft (×2) with the fuel pump on. Fuel pump off after start; on again before takeoff. If flooded, follow the POH flooded-start procedure.
Insurance experience requirements (PIC)
- 100 hours total logged flying time
- 25 hours in retractable-gear aircraft
- 10 hours in insured make and model (Mooney M20)
- In lieu of the retractable / make-and-model time above: 10 hours dual in the same make and model with at least 15 takeoffs and landings, with an appropriately rated CFI and endorsement for make and model

FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY
For educational purposes only. These calculators use the current basic W&B data on file for each aircraft but are not for official flight planning. As Pilot in Command, reference the aircraft POH and the current weight & balance documents for your flight. You are solely responsible for correct, accurate calculations before flight.
Graphs reflect Normal Category limits. For Utility Category, confirm CG envelope data in the POH for that aircraft. Figures do not include start, taxi, and run-up fuel credit.
